How SSP Works

Your Role
As the listener, all that is required of you during a session is to simply listen to the music and let your provider know of feelings or sensations, whether emotional or physical that may arise.
Your provider may also have you engage in light activity during your listening sessions, such as stretches, breathing exercises, or drawing. Be sure to stay in close communication with your provider, so they can adjust your listening plan to suit your needs.
My Role
I will be your guide along your SSP journey. I'm trained to make sure you are ready even before you start listening to the music, and will recommend and individual listening plan for you. I will provide education, answer all your questions and prepare you for all that you may experience once you begin.
During the listening I will monitor your progress and make sure you are not completing the program too quickly or too slowly. I will support and work with you to find the right pace and conditions for the optimal listening experience for you.

Trying out a sober January? Try pairing it with Safe and Sound Protocol. Our nervous system is constantly scanning the environment to assess for safety. Sometimes, when our world goes topsy turvy, our automatic nervous system can get stuck in various ways and we may have the following symptoms:

-
Difficulty with eating, digesting, or swallowing
-
Difficulty in falling and staying asleep
-
Rapid or shallow breathing, changes in heart rate and blood pressure
-
Challenges in connecting with other people, feelings of isolation or loneliness, and anxiety
-
Trouble concentrating, mental clarity, or creativity

SSP helps you access a safe state once again, responding to your needs, others, and the world with more mental clarity and emotional regulation.

Each system is different! You may need to listen at a slower pace which is ok. While you will have independent time every week to get through the first hour, and it's intended we will get through the first hour, and it's intended that we'll get through 5 hours in 5 weeks, you may need longer and that can be accommodated through additional group or individual sessions for a negotiated rate with Allison. Insurance coverage may be utilized for individual sessions.
Couples SSP: Strengthening Your Container

Sessions: 5-10 Sessions Total
Cost: $1,000 per couple. Payment plans available upon request.
*Note: This session is not meant for any couple with difficult power dynamics or contemplating separation or divorce.

A committed partnership takes work. When you're in love, you tend to re-enact your attachment wounds in your current relationship. It takes a concentrated effort to own it, learn from it, and heal. That's an individuals work not our partners. Instead they're our secondary caregiver. However, through all the work, safety within a relationship can suffer. What if we could work on that safety in a different way? What if you could reconnect with safety within yourself, and then enhance your ability to extend care to your partner?
This couples experience is meant for couples of any kind that are committed to each other and maybe even in therapy. Enhancing the safety of your relationship is our goal. Alison is a certified SSP Provider and will coach you during the listening experience.
